February saw the launch of the latest rank metric on EduRank; UK Independent Schools.

The Independent School rank has taken the Top 100 Independent Schools according to their GCSE and A-Level results from 2015. The ranking scores are comprised of data across the key social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube & Google+), website data and search data.

Independent Schools operate in a fiercely competitive industry and EduRank will allow these institutions to benchmark their social media activity against their competitors. The quality of social media posting and engagement plays a pivotal role in the pupil recruitment process.

 

The Maynard School secured the top spot in the rankings for February. The school achieved first place on YouTube, as well as being in the top five finishers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Their key achievement on YouTube is the below video:

February’s rank showed a surprising result; only 21% of Independent Schools have an Instagram profile and 36% aren’t on Facebook. With both students and parents active on these platforms, could these schools be missing out in the potential to generate student enrollments?

The top Instagram post for February goes to St Clare’s, Oxford with the announcement that their new building was finished. The post enjoyed a total of 72 likes.

Over on Facebook, the top post for last month went to Methodist College, Belfast. The school celebrated the success of the hockey team and gained a total of 270 ‘likes’ and an impressive 27 shares.
