Stronger SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) means reducing your reliance on Google advertising and is central to an integrated digital marketing campaign.

But what is “strong” SEO?

Until Edurank’s SEO Score, universities have been unable to benchmark their SEO performance against the sector and against their competitors.

Edurank’s SEO Score does this. It is a free tool to support education marketers in developing their organic search strategy and reducing their long term advertising spend.

SEO Score is an education specific algorithm focusing on the most important ranking factors required for a successful organic search strategy. The algorithm takes Google’s most important ranking factor – site content, backlinks, technical SEO and pulls all of these metrics into one, easy to digest, and straightforward score.

All final scores are measured out of 100 – which we then break down into an on-page and off-page score.

How will SEO Score provide added value to the education sector?

Fine-tune your marketing strategy: SEO Score shows users which elements of their SEO strategy need improving. Every institution needs an SEO strategy, to complement their social media, paid advertising and large recruitment campaigns.

Improve digital performance: The SEO Score algorithm looks at on-page and off-page performance. This includes: content, backlinks, traffic and visibility, and technical structure.

Report on what works: SEO Score provides a score out of 100, which will be updated every six months. Universities will be able to see their hard work paying off.
